Flooding in Brazil, June-July 2014

In June-July 2014, Brazil experienced significant flooding, particularly affecting the southern regions, including the states of Paraná and Santa Catarina. Torrential rains led to major rivers overflowing, causing widespread flooding that displaced thousands and resulted in considerable damage to property and infrastructure. These images, acquired along the Uruguay River in the coastal range of southern Brazil, show the extensive flooding near São Borja city that began at the end of June. The images, captured using different band combinations, depict the flooded areas in light brown, violet, and green respectively.
