In December 2003, France experienced flooding along the Rhône River due to prolonged heavy rainfall. The floodwaters inundated parts of southeastern France, especially affecting regions like Arles and Avignon. The first image shows the area from Montélimar to Orange. The second image, captured on December 2, covers the southeastern part of the Rhône delta, including the cities of Montpellier and Nîmes. Two subsequent images, taken three days later, also depict the Rhône delta, particular the city of Arles which is surrounded by water. The fifth image features the Loire Valley between Nevers and Orléans, with visible flooding in the image's bottom right. The last image captures the Midi-Pyrénées region, including Toulouse and Cahors, highlighting flooding along the Tarn and Aveyron rivers near Montauban.
