Hurricane Danielle, August 1998

In August 1998, Hurricane Danielle formed in the Atlantic Ocean. Although it did not make landfall, Danielle caused significant disruptions to maritime activities and posed a threat to coastal regions. The first image, taken on August 31, 1998, utilizes data from the Wind Scatterometer aboard the ERS satellite, showing Hurricane Danielle with a maximum wind speed of 80 knots. The subsequent images, captured by the NOAA-14 satellite on August 31 and September 1, depict Danielle as it moved northward, off the coast of Florida and along the East Coast of the United States.
