Fires in Spain, October 2017

In October 2017, wildfires, fueled by strong winds from Hurricane Ophelia, ravaged Portugal and the northwestern region of Galicia in Spain. These Landsat-8 satellite images focus on the northeastern areas around Vigo, illustrating the regions affected by the fires. Burnt areas are depicted in brown, while active fire zones are shown in plum.
