Strait of Gibraltar (Spain), 2002

This multitemporal image captures the Strait of Gibraltar, where a continuous current flows from the Atlantic Ocean into the Mediterranean Sea, evident in the sea's varying colours due to different wind conditions during acquisitions: red from 1999, green from 2002, and blue from 2000. The upper right corner features Algeciras, a port and industrial hub in the Bay of Gibraltar. To the right, La Linea de la Concepción sits in the neutral zone separating Spain from the British territory of Gibraltar, with the free port of Gibraltar below. Northwestern Morocco, including Tangier and the Cap Spartel headland, appears in the image's lower section, with the airport visible on the bottom left.
