HRC
About HRC
The High Resolution Camera (HRC) is a black and white camera with a miniaturised telescope, which was launched on board ESA's PROBA-1 satellite on 22 October 2001, and is primarily intended for technology, educational and general public information purposes.
With a high spatial resolution of five metres, HRC can acquire images with an area of 25 square kilometres.
As well as studying the Earth, the spacecraft also returns data on its own immediate environment.
The HRC was built by OIP of Belgium.
