CryoSat data platform cs2eo features new interface and datasets

15 Aug 2024

The latest updates to cs2eo, a high performance platform to access, compare and download datasets from CryoSat, ICESat-2, CRYO2ICE, CryoVEx, Cryo-TEMPO-EOLIS and Operation IceBridge, were released on 13 August.

A major redesign of the user interface has taken place, setting out four cs2eo.org functionalities: Basic Data Download, Intersection Processing, Advanced Data Download and Time Series Processing.

Site features other than dataset and spatiotemporal filter specification will be arranged under these functionalities (or new functionalities) to manage the complexity of the site.

Within the search page, Dataset Selection now comes first. A short, searchable description of each dataset has been added, and the user can now filter datasets by the functionalities they support.

Other updates include:

  • Cryo-TEMPO Land Ice, Sea Ice, Summer Sea Ice, Polar Ocean, Coastal Ocean and Inland Water Baseline C datasets.
  • Optional user accounts, allowing users to save their settings.
  • A privacy policy.

Future planned updates include the integration of the current prototype timeseries tool into the new site structure, Advanced Data Download (providing enhanced sub-settings), and the ability for users with accounts to view a history of their queries and downloads.

Cs2eo has been developed by Earthwave in partnership with the University of Edinburgh and with funding from ESA’s CryoSat mission.
