RapidEye data collections consist of up to 20 m resolution data products from the Multispectral Imager (MSI) instrument, processed to Level-1B and 3A. The following product types are available:

• Ortho Tile product: Radiometric, sensor and geometrically corrected (by using DEMs with a post spacing of between 30 and 90 metres) and aligned to a cartographic map projection. Products are available in both Visual (natural colour) and Analytic (multispectral) types.
• Basic product: Radiometric and sensor corrected, but without geometric correction. Products are available in GeoTIFF and NITF (National Imagery Transmission Format) formats.

Samples of the RapidEye standard products are available over ESA's test site at La Crau in France, which you can use to preview what the data collections offer in order to assess their type and resolution. Each sample data ZIP file contains a .TIFF image of the processed product, and specifications of the acquired scene.

The RapidEye ESA Archive collection is open to users following submission of a Fast Registration with Approval. The Full Archive collection is open for research and application development, prototype and test projects to users located in the territory of ESA Member States (including Canada) and in the European Commission Member States, upon submission of a Project Proposal subject to evaluation and acceptance by ESA and the data owner.

Products distributed via ESA dissemination services – nominally those available in the ESA archive collections – are published in EO-SIP format, which is a package that contains the metadata file, browse images, and original data in their native format.
