How much data may I request in a Project Proposal?

Access to some restrained data collections distributed by ESA require submission of a Project Proposal. These collections are typically for Third Party Missions when the data provider can only offer a limited amount of data.

The details of how much data may be requested for each data collection requiring a Project Proposal is described in the following tables.

The tables for each collection provide the maximum number of scenes or coverage you may request for that collection and for each product type contained within it. Where relevant, the distinction is provided between the number of archive scenes (those already acquired by the satellite) and tasking scenes (requests to task the satellite to acquire a new scene).

If you wish to submit a Project Proposal that contains more than one product type or more than one mission, an overall quota limit is applied. For example, the maximum number of scenes cannot be requested for multiple missions in a single proposal; if you request 30% of the maximum number of scenes available for one collection, you may then request up to 70% of the maximum number of scenes for a second collection.

All Project Proposals are evaluated by ESA and it may not be possible to provide access to all of the requested scenes depending on the subject of the proposal. This page serves as a guide to assist submission of proposals.
