What was the purpose of CryoVEx 2012?

In continuation of the CryoSat Validation Experiment (CryoVEx) carried out in 2011, ESA initiated a second Arctic post-launch campaign in 2012 to further calibrate and validate CryoSat data products.

The main purpose of CryoVEx 2012 was to acquire data along transects of CryoSat ground tracks through a coordinated major effort involving a large group of European, Canadian and US scientists.

What was the outcome of CryoVEx 2012?

The CryoVEx 2012 campaign was a success and the CryoVEx team obtained a collection of unique measurements to analyse.

The campaign data is available online via FTPS upon submission of a data access request. An active EO Sign In account is required to submit the request.

The data can be downloaded via an FTP client (e.g., FileZilla or WinSCP) using the option "Implicit FTP over TLS".

Data from the campaign are also available to download from the CS2EO portal.
