Title: Current drought situation in Ebro basin

Description: The SMOS soil-moisture-based drought monitor is updated monthly and tracked the progression of the 2022 summer drought in the Ebro basin. Extremely dry soil moisture conditions in the western part of the basin can be seen in the July, while the August map highlights several regions which wetter than average – caused by heat induced thunderstorms.
