ESA have launched five missions in the Earth Explorers programme – GOCE, CryoSat, SMOS, Swarm, and Aeolus – each of which is dedicated to observing an aspect of Earth’s system. Four more missions are currently planned - EarthCARE, Biomass, FLEX, and FORUM - which will further our understanding of Earth's climate.
