Hurricane Paul (Mexico), October 2006

Hurricane Paul, a potent tropical cyclone, originated in the eastern Pacific Ocean in October 2006. Quickly gaining strength, it reached hurricane status while lingering near the coast of Baja California for several days. Despite initial concerns about potential impact on Mexico's western coast, Paul remained offshore, resulting in minimal disruption on land. The accompanying Medium Resolution Imaging Spectrometre (MERIS) image captures Hurricane Paul off the coast of Mexico.
