Edinburgh's Urban Evolution: A Satellite Perspective from 1989 to 2015

Captured over 26 years by Landsat 5 and 8 satellites, these images illustrate Edinburgh’s urban changes. The images highlight modest developments around the suburbs of the old city, along the coast, particularly in the harbour area, and near the airport. Edinburgh, located on the southern shore of the Firth of Forth, is Scotland’s second most populous city after Glasgow and serves as the administrative, cultural, educational, and service-industry hub of the country.
