World Heritage Sites
Cusco, Peru, 15 - 16 November 2012
The Geosciences Information for Teachers (GIFT) Programme, organised by the European Geosciences Union (EGU) offers teachers of primary school to high school the opportunity to upgrade their knowledge in geophysical themes and to shorten the time between new discoveries and textbook information. Each workshop focuses on particular themes. For more information on EGU GIFT, visit the website.
The workshop in 2012 took place in Cuzco, Peru, from the 15 to 16 of November 2012. The themes were natural disasters, global change, and the preservation of world heritage sites.
ESA contributed to this event by providing theoretical and practical training in the application of EO for disaster mapping. The practical sessions involved processing ESA and third party mission data with the free ESA software toolboxes.
