The image below is a merge of Envisat and ERS-2 satellite SAR images acquired over the city of Millau (Massif Central of France). This multi-temporal image (2000, 2006, 2010), shows the new viaduct built along the A75-A71 motorway from Paris to Montpellier, near the city of Millau.
Built in only 3 years (2001 - 2004), the viaduct was formally concluded on 14 December 2004 and opened officially to traffic on 16 December 2006. This viaduct is also the tallest bridge in the world (343 metres high).
